Sahiwal was a residential community on Main Karachi Lahore route Line .1989 Sahiwal was pronounced locale and its headquarter was created in Pakpattan and 1864 it was moved to Sahiwal . The current city was established by Lt. Legislative head of Punjab Sir Robert Montgomery in 1865.sahiwal was initially known as Montgomery on the name of its originator .The name was changed in 1996 and city took its flow Sahiwal.the city is in the thickly populated area between the Sutlej and Ravi streams. The main harvests are wheat, cotton, tobacco,[3] vegetables, potato[4] and oilseeds. Cotton products and lacquered woodwork are made. The recent chairman of sahiwal board name is Dr, Anwar Ahmed and he done wonderful job for creating matric and intermediate examination at board level in sahiwal.
